Looking for More Exposure for Your FSBO Listing?

Check out these popular sites to post your home online.

Many of which are free.

1.  Zillow.com

The real estate website with the highest amount of traffic is zillow.com.  Averaging 149 million views per month according similarweb.com, Zillow provides a great platform for home owners selling on their own.

Owners can “claim” their property and edit their bedroom, bathroom count, and other specs on their property as well as write a property description, upload photos and schedule an open house.  Zillow is free to use as a For Sale By Owner and I would definitely start here.

2. Facebook

Facebook Marketplace Groups have been a fantastic place to get extra exposure for the property you are selling.

Now if your thinking, I don’t usually go to Facebook when I’m planning to buy or sell something, think again.  The Marketplace Groups are lively interactive groups where many people post items they want to sell.

Go to the Marketplace and run a search, you can practically find anything.  Leads contact you right through Facebook Messenger so be sure you are all connected by downloading the apps to your telephone first.

3. FSBO.com

Since you are planning to sell your home on your own, it would be a good idea to list your home on the local MLS.  This will help you in a few ways.  This should slow down the number of telephone calls you get from real estate agents wanting to list your home!

This will also advertise your home on the local MLS to expose it to buyer’s agents who may already be working with a buyer for your home.  This would involve you offering a commission to agents representing buyer if you agree to sell your home to that specific buyer.

Advertising with a FSBO MLS company will give you the advantage of working with agents that may have buyers for your property and still be in control of the sale. The cost for advertising on fsbo.com is $399.  Details found on their website.

4.  ByOwnerFlatFeeMLS.com

This website seems to have the lowest price for listing your home on the MLS, beginning at $99 up to $188 for the upgraded version.  After calling the (800)882-7851 number on their site, I was told that if I were to list with them, they would in fact place in on our local MLS, the Hudson Gateway MLS which we use here in Westchester and the Bronx.

MLS’s are local organizations, you can list your home on any MLS you would like, however the benefit of listing your home on an MLS is to give local agents access, listing a New York home on a Texas MLS will notify Texas agents your home is for sale.

The MLS is a primary tool for almost every real estate agent.  You want to use the local MLS.

HomeLister will put you in contact with a “real estate professional” that you can speak to and will advise you should you have any questions.
